We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Mathematics to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching in a creative setting, inspiring students to develop confidence, curiosity, and strong mathematical understanding. You will teach across KS2 and KS3, with responsibility for preparing students for GCSE Mathematics.

The Susi Earnshaw Theatre School is a unique and thriving independent school set in the heart of High Barnet. Housed in a historic building dating back to the 1530s, the school combines academic excellence with a specialist focus on the creative and performing arts.

With small class sizes (maximum 10–12 students), a fully functioning theatre, and a collaborative staff culture, we offer a truly supportive and inspiring environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated mathematics lessons
Inspire, motivate and challenge students of all abilities, including SEND and high-achieving learners
Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching
Provide high-quality feedback and maintain strong marking standards
Foster a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
Contribute to the wider life of the school and students’ personal development
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to whole-school initiatives
Support the school’s ethos, development plan and strategic aims
Use IT effectively to enhance teaching and learning

Essential

About You

A degree in Mathematics or a related subject
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or willingness to train
Ability to teach GCSE Mathematics
Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Enthusiasm for inspiring a love of mathematics

Desirable

Experience with GCSE exam preparation or exam board marking
Interest in the creative or performing arts
Confidence in implementing new school IT systems
