Role Overview

We are seeking a newly qualified accountant (0–2 years PQE) to join a dynamic and fast-paced macro hedge fund based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded individual to gain broad exposure across fund accounting, financial reporting, and business operations within a high-performing investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Assist with NAV calculations and investor reporting
Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
Support the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors
Fund Operations

Work closely with fund administrators to oversee fund accounting activities
Review reconciliations (cash, positions, P&L) and investigate discrepancies
Assist in monitoring portfolio valuations and pricing sources
Management Reporting

Produce internal management accounts and variance analysis
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support investment and operational decisions
Controls & Compliance

Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures
Assist with regulatory reporting requirements
Support implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
0–2 years post-qualified experience (PQE)
Experience

Background in audit, fund accounting, or financial services preferred
Exposure to investment management, hedge funds, or asset management advantageous
Skills & Competencies

Strong technical accounting knowledge
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems is a plus
